Dancing and Acting
Diya
is considered one of the the most serious actress in Nepali movie
industry. She has done memorable acting in ‘Kagbeni’, ‘Sanghuro’ and
‘Soongava’. The movie ‘Soongava’ was selected in Nepal to participate in
the Oscars.
Diya
is also a very serious dancer. She is a trained Kathak and Bharat
Natyam dancer. She had completed Masters in Kathak dance from Allahabad
University. When she was little she had danced as a child artist in
Tulsi Ghimire‘s ‘Dui Thopa Aansu’. The song ‘Jun Ta Lagyo Tara le … ‘
was one of the most popular songs of the movie.
The

The MaHa duo, Madan Krishna
Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya and other artists are going to perform
in various cities of Australia under a tour titled MaHa Yatra 2014.
The
artists comprising of MaHa, Kiran KC, Basundhara Bhusal, Narendra
Kansarkar, Shiva Hari Poudel, Kunti Moktan and Mohit Bamsha Acharya
(Haribansha’s son) will also be in the MaHaYatra tour.
The
artists are scheduled to reach Australia on January 16. The tour will
start from the Australian city Perth on January 18 and will conclude in
Sydney on February 2. The events will be conducted in the major cities
like Perth, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Alidade, and Sydney.
In
MaHaYatra 2014, MaHa will perform well known comedy shows of the past
and a new show. Other artists will also be featured in different comedy
shows and musical programs.

Actress Sumina Ghimire has admitted that she is not a virgin. In an interview published in ‘Kamana’ monthly, Sumina has admitted that she is no longer a virgin.
This statement of not being virgin is linked with a couple of previous incidents in which she was found with producers of the movies she did. During the shooting of ‘Rang’ she was found in the producer Roshan Hamal’s room. In a latest incident, she was caught while travelling secretly to Malaysia with the producer of her movie ’9 O’clock’, Ramesh Sambedana.

In an upcoming movie, ‘Hasiya’ two actresses – Priyanka Karki and Hema Shrestha are featured as item girls. The shooting of the movie has recently concluded. One of the item dancers, Hema is the lead actress of the movie.
The director of the movie Milan Chams says that the dance is not only an item dance but an action item song. The choreographer of the dance, Renasha Rai claims that it was the first time two major actresses have done an item song in Nepali movie.
The set made for the shooting of the song is told to be the costliest set to be made for any item dance in Nepali movie, so far. Before breaking the cost record, the costliest set was made for Rekha Thapa‘s dance. The choreographer of the Rekha’s dance was also Renasha. Renasha says that the item song of ‘Hasiya’ is one of the best songs she has done in her career.
